I was born in Amsterdam in 1947. In Amsterdam I studied medicine and then specialized to the ENT doctor at the University of Amsterdam.
I paint (with intervals) since 1970. Then I followed a course in etching at Maarten Krabbe. In that period, there are exhibitions at AMC, in the Central Laboratory Blood Service and the Havixhorst in the district. In 1980 following relocation to Meppel, as I have painting course taught by Roelie Kleine. From 2001 my paintings are dominated by a new theme, my wife and I get Nineke under the spell of the Argentine Tango. After tango lessons in De Wijk, Assen and Groningen, we dance holidays in Belgium, France, Italy, China, Turkey, Russia and of course Buenos Aires.
Since 2005 I have worked full time as painter and artist. The paintings in the recent past, colorful and stylized. This gives the series "Tango at Sea. I follow several years training in Deventer in Dream Studio and Daad to learn how to create imitations of marble and Studio Anna Arcese in Leiden for knowledge of grisailles. In the latest paintings imitation marble and grisaille techniques are used, with the tango dancers in the foreground.
