Besides the passion, the sorrow for lost love, nostalgia, resentment and loss of innocence theme of the Argentine tango. The feelings are intense: black and white.
In the latest paintings and imitation marble grisailletechnieken used as background, the foreground with the tango dancers. This will create an atmosphere of lost palaces and the lost beauty of Baroque ornaments. In this book, the tango paintings combined with parts of scores and lyrics of 12 tango songs. The Spanish lyrics are translated in Dutch. This book was made on the occasion of the exhibition of the tangopaintings in the Kunstbedrijf in Heemstede, in May 2009 and the exhibition at the Centre for Latin American Research and Documentation in Amsterdam, June 2009.
For the exhibition in Most (CZ) in September 2009 a special adapted version was made with tangotranslations in German and an introduction in Czech.
